Joan Christenson, CSA

Founder / President / CEO

Joan Christenson is the founder, President and CEO of Seekjc.  Joan is also a Certified Senior Advisor® with more than a decade of professional experience working with older adults.

Before founding Seekjc, Joan served as a Vice President for the largest continuing care retirement community in Arizona. She was a Senior Advisor for one of the leading senior referral organizations in the nation. Also, Joan served as a Veterans Benefit Advisor for our wartime veterans and their spouses to assist them in securing financial resources to help pay for cost of care. 

Over the years, Joan guided thousands of families to solutions who were overwhelmed, who didn’t know where to turn, and who had made uniformed, regretful decisions. She saw an opportunity to share her knowledge and expertise in a more comprehensive approach to help families navigate the complexities of senior living and care options in a more positive and a less stressful way. 

Joan personally faced the challenging decisions required as a caregiver and care coordinator for her grandmother, mother-in-law and husband prior to their deaths. Through the good and the bad of those years and experiences, Joan gained a passion for sharing her knowledge to help families avoid painful pitfalls and assist them in making more well-informed, confident decisions. All of this experience makes Joan uniquely qualified as your personal GPS, helping you navigate senior living and care options.

Erin Sterkel

Erin Sterkel

Chief Operating Officer

Innovative and growth focused, Erin Sterkel is an accomplished solutions-minded business development and operations leader who leverages over two decades of experience. As head of operations at Seekjc, Erin oversees all operational and business management functions to build strong partner relations, implement efficient business processes, and ensure smooth client transitions.

Prior to joining Seekjc, Erin worked for a staffing and consulting firm where she developed direct relationships with her clients, prospects and various third party partnerships to generate significant revenue increases year over year. Additionally, she created and modified procedures and implemented best practices. These initiatives resulted in increased operational efficiencies and revenue spikes for her Fortune 100 healthcare client.

Erin is a firm believer in fostering strong internal and external relationships and operates with a high degree of integrity, transparency and honesty for the betterment of the company and to ensure the best experience possible for the clients of Seekjc.

Emma

Emma Hitzman

Marketing Manager

Emma Hitzman is a creative leader rooted in strategic disciplines for Seekjc. She drives innovative marketing, impactful communications, and effective programming with on-point accuracy. She skillfully manages and coordinates all the community outreach, special events and company programming activities.

Before coming on board as a team member at Seekjc, Emma received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Arts and Arts Administration from the University of Wisconsin. Emma focused in the non-profit sector and was the Curator of Art at the University of Wisconsin—Green Bay. 

With a background in event planning and customer service, Emma executes corporate initiatives with ease. She is organized, calm under pressure, and communicates well. Emma has a stellar work ethic and is committed to excellence.
